Only DeSite with its extensive screening experience recognized the need for a Feed Deflection System to direct material flow. Only DeSite SLG screeners offer a deflector to funnel material towards the top of the screen deck to begin the screening process.
Directing material flow to the top off the screen deck produces maximum production and maximum efficiency. The SLG 108 deflector has the ability to open and close as needed to handle oversize material. The 108 feed deflector fits into our quick disconnect lugs.
Quick disconnect mounting allows for the feeder to be easily removed turning the SLG 108 into a vibrating grizzly screen deck to screen materials like bulky construction demolition debris.
An operator’s ability to manipulate screen deck slope while screening increases efficiency and will produce more production each hour. The SLG 108VFRB can adjust to varying positions for varying materials with varying moisture levels. The 108 performs well in all soil conditions: wet, dry, sandy, rocky, and even frozen soil.
To slow material flow, the operator needs only to flatten deck slope with the bucket while feeding the screener. Leaving the screener at a steeper slope allows material to travel faster for screening high moisture materials. You will only find this high-efficiency feature on a DeSite screening machine.
Our suspension system is basically maintenance free with only two grease points that need servicing each shift. Using leaf springs, Z springs, and UHMW bushing to separate the suspension tubes from the coils no lubrication is needed. Less time servicing means more time screening, more production and more profit.
Our Cantilevered Coil Over Spring Suspension System gives the operator the freedom to choose the deck slope that best suits the material being screened. Our simple and rugged suspension designed to cantilever which mean that when the top of the screen deck is pushed down the bottom works in the opposite direction.
The SLG 108VFRB comes fitted with dual eccentric vibratory pack. The motors turn at 3600rpm and each produce about 760lbs of force as they spin. Inside the starter box are two starting capacitors that store energy to initiate motor start up. When at operating rpm each vibratory pack only draw about 5 amps. Our DeSite eccentric vibratory packs are oil ring sealed to keep dust and moisture out. Electric components is encased in rubber to absorb vibration transferred from the eccentrics.
The SLG 108VF screener is easily moved around onsite using only the bucket of your machine with our SLG 108 Bucket Transport Lugs. Keeping your machine as close as possible to the material being screened reduces cycle times to the screener which means more buckets per hour and higher hourly output.
With our fork and bucket lug transport system there is no need for wheels, axles, hitches and wiring to maintain.
The galvanized finish makes the riser corrosion resistant. Often the riser sits covered in soil and rock when the screener is not in use so the galvanized finish protects the metal from these elements.
When the screener is up on the riser box the storage capacity for product under the screener raiser to about 5 yards of material on each side of the screener.
The Riser Box weighs in at 1200lbs.

Only on a DeSite screener will you find a Feed Deflection System that funnels material to the top of the screen deck to begin the screening process. Early on in designing the SLG 78, we recognized the need to control and direct the flow of material being screened. Forcing material to the top of the screen deck to begin the process allows for maximum production and maximum efficiency.
The feed deflector on the 78VF allows the operator to feed the screener faster and more aggressively. The feed deflector on the 78VF mounts into quick disconnect lugs that allow the feeder to tip forward allowing oversize material pass over the screen deck and into the overs pile. When screening very trashy material with lots of oversize stumps, big roots, and construction debris, the feeder can be completely removed turning the screener into a standard deck screen like all others.
Depending on whether you are screening in the spring, summer, fall, or winter, each season brings varying screening conditions. Spring, coming out of winter can prove to be the most challenging due to high moisture levels in your material.
That is why we have designed our SLG screeners with a tilting screen deck system. Material sitting in one spot on a vibrating screen deck bring moisture to the surface and becomes the bonding agent that makes material stick to the mesh and thus plugs your screen deck. It is important to keep wet material moving across the deck to reduce what we call mesh blinding.
DeSite SLG screeners can tilt from 45 degrees for high moisture materials, all the way back to 30 degrees when screening dry sand, gravels, and low moisture soils.
Another unique feature found only with a DeSite screener, is your ability to manipulate the deck slope during the screening process. Only DeSite builds their screen deck so rugged that you are able to make contact with your bucket and the screen deck to manipulate the degree of slope while feeding the screener.
Starting at the source you will find our heavy duty 25ft (10 gauge) electrical cord that connects to our watertight power box. Inside the power box you will find a bus bar and starting capacitor that stores the energy necessary to start the vibratory pack rotating. The vibratory pack will spin up the dual eccentric armature to 3600 rpm, supplying a centrifugal force of 560 ft/ lbs.
Once up to speed the vibratory pack transfers the vibration through the vibratory motor mounting plate, through the vertical tubes, and then across our crowned and side tensioned screen mesh. Our screen deck design has been engineered to withstand the harmonic vibration that is needed to keep material moving across the screen deck.
The SLG 78VF can be powered up with standard 120 volt land power as long as the distance from the power source is under 75ft and you are using a heavy duty 10 gauge electrical cord.
For moving the SLG 78 around onsite our Bucket Transport Lugs save time and the need for having pallet forks onsite.

We have installed rubber skirts on each side of the 68V screen deck. The skirts are there to catch stray material falling from the bucket that might miss the deck. We have made the skirts of rubber to bend and flex in case hit by the bucket.
No sacrifices were made in strength and durability when building in the suspension system for the 68V. The SLG 68V comes with the same durable coil and leaf spring system put into our SLG 78VF screening machine.
Check out the photos below. See how much control the operator can have over the slope of the screen deck. A steeper deck angle makes material travel faster for better screening of wet materials. A flatter deck slope slows material flow and works best with gravels, sand, and dry soils.
The SLG68V comes with our Dual Eccentric (110 volt) 3600rpm Vibratory Pack, the same vibratory power built into our bigger SLG 78VF. The motor and eccentric system is sealed away from the elements and maintenance free. The 68V vibratory pack draws 4 to 5 amps and works off a 15 amp circuit or can be powered with a compact 3500 watt portable generator.
We offer a wide range of mesh that are quick and easily changed. The ability to install large and small high quality mesh makes DeSite SLG Screeners a time saver and money maker. We offer both square and elongated mesh pattern in a double lock crimp weave. Our double lock weave puts two crimps in each wire as they intersect, This creates a strong weave and a stronger, more stable mesh.
Our elongated pattern mesh is what we call a triple chute weave where a group of three wires intersect the main with wires. A space of four inches has full unobstructed opening before the next three wires intersect the mesh again. Our elongated pattern meshes are designed to handle higher moisture material when screening is more challenging. Hourly production are always considerably higher when elongated pattern mesh in in use.

Wood mulch is a light product that travels over the screen deck differently that a soil or aggregate product. It is recommended to run a bit bigger mesh. Often people will screen out the fines and mix it into the topsoil for slow release decomposition. It is a great way to recycle the wood fines.
